One of my favourite authors and now published!

If you're looking for a space based adventure between a huge-hairy alien beast (similar to a lion) and a human, then look no further! I can promise you this will deliver not only some great scenes but a well written story.

I have been avid follower of the author, Rob Colton, for ages. I fell in love with his Timberpark Chronicles on Literotica and was ecstatic when i saw this new release. Rob writes great stories around characters with large muscular builds and juicy appetites. Also being a male author, Rob delivers that connection during the sex scenes that leave you wanting more. Forget the heart fluttering moments and move in for the kill!

With the Degan Incident, the begin draws you in as you meet the characters, get some hot scenes and interesting moments but then the story diverts into a stale point. That is the only negative i can comment on as the plot follows Devin (the human) through some heart breaking and realistic scenes. It bounces back though with some action, survival, politics and space travel as Devin and his new lover fight against not only the government and space pirates but Bastian's species as well.

I hope that Rob publishes more of his stories as i get the urge to want to share them with everyone and prove just how much of a good writer he truly is. If you're new to Rob's works then this will get you jumping on the fan-band wagon in no time. Enjoy!

If you love sci fi or m/m romance or aliens or mpreg or kidnappings or mysteries or goverment conspiracy or... shall I go on? It was amazing and I can't wait to read more from this author. JUST READ IT!

I love this story. I finished it the same day I bought it, it was THAT good, and I've been re-reading my favourite parts. It has loveable heroes, great secondary characters, lots of action, awesome villains, adventure in a faraway world, alien love and well written love/sex scenes. What more can a sci-fi fan want? The writing is good, though there are a couple of grammar issues that don't detract from the story.

I understood Devin's personality well, given the circumstances of his birth and his upbringing, and was pleased to see that he didn't let the disappointments in his life hold him back or break him. After his experience at the hands of the Union Researchers, Devin took on a needy "damsel in distress" personality. Of course, with what he went through, I could see why. If this series continues, and I whole-heartedly want it to, I would hope Devin will revert back more to his former "can do" personality.

Bastian was a little harder to grasp in the beginning, but he was out of his elements on Earth. After he was reunited with is family and returned to his planet, he was easy to understand. His character didn't change much throughout the story, but Devin needed a strong and steady person after all that's happened to him.

I loved the world-building and look forward to learning more about the different species. If there is another story, I would guess it is Perin's turn to find his soul mate and I can't wait to see who he'd be paired with, though I have a suspicion.

Overall, this is a well-written and exciting sci-fi story that has you turning the pages until the end and then you're displeased when it actually ends because there is so much more you want to know. Highly recommend.

A must read for every Cuban.

Excellent introduction.
I also own a book entitled "Our Islands and its People" published by the US Government in the 1890's after the Spanish-American War. I've always considered this large expose' one of my library's most important treasures especially because of its early twentieth century photographs of the island, the folklore, the myths, and the traditions and superstitions of that era.
Manzano's book will stand in another prominent spot in my collection of Cuban works.

This is an excellent edition of an important work. The english translation is well done and the introduction is wonderful. Schulman provides useful and interesting background information as well as thought-provoking insights.

Realizing the correlation between milk and lemons, Trip reverses the beverages and changes his classmates back into classmates and his dinocow into a cow.

Great Book!

I got this book at a local book signing and got it signed by the author. He was really great to meet in person, so i see why the books so good. It's very creative and has a great story for younger kids! A must buy for your children's nighttime stories! And remember, stay away from the milk!

Fun read for adults as well

I picked this book up for free as a kindle book. My wife and I (late 40's) both enjoyed it. If you have every been in grade school, you are not to old for this one. Lots of funny bits in a short book. The story moves along quickly. Makes a good lunch time read, or turn on the kindle text to speech and enjoy it with a loved one.

How to Milk a Dinocow

I read this book to my five year old and three year old over three nights at bedtime. Both enjoyed it greatly and thought it was very funny. In the beginning I had to stop several times to explain some things to my three year old (which is expected, this book is not geared for one so young), but by the end he was really loving it and was asking me to read it! The illustrations were cute and plot was creative and amusing. At the end, both of my kids enjoyed speculating about what other creatures could be created using the machine in the story and different combinations of things. They went to bed giggling with minds full of imaginative ideas.

About the Author
Wilson D. (Bill) Miscamble, C.S.C. was born in Roma, Australia and educated at the University of Queensland. He pursued graduate studies in history at the University of Notre Dame from where he received his doctorate in 1980. He then served for two years as North American Analyst in the Office of National Assessments, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Canberra, Australia. In August of 1982 he returned to Notre Dame and entered the priesthood formation program of the Congregation of Holy Cross of which he is now a member. He was ordained a priest in 1988 and has taught at Notre Dame since then. He chaired the History Department from 1993 to 1998. His book George F. Kennan and the Making of American Foreign Policy, 1947-1950 (1992) received the Harry S. Truman Book Award. He also has authored Keeping the Faith, Making a Difference (2000), and edited American Political History: Essays on the State of the Discipline (with John Marszalek, 1997), and Go Forth and Do Good: Memorable Notre Dame Commencement Addresses (2003). He also has published a number of articles, essays and reviews and received a number of awards for his teaching at Notre Dame.

New light on who/what started the Cold War

The origin of the Cold War remains a hot topic, with several new books appearing each year revealing new information from previously sealed archives and basic research into private papers of major players in the Cold War. Having read a number of these studies, I would rate Wilson Miscamble's as one of the very best. His select bibliography alone list hundreds of sources, and his copious footnotes show that he used these references extensively. Indeed, some of his best material appears in the footnotes, all of which bear noting. Miscamble takes the reader from the day Truman was called to the White House to be told that FDR had died, through the trying first weeks of leading the nation through a deadly maze of challenges as World War II grinds to an end. Truman was placed in a bind by FDR, who had not even informed him of the work being done to develop the atomic bomb. Nor had Truman ever met Churchill or Stalin, with whom he would have to cooperate to defeat Hitler's forces, then concentrate on winning the war against Japan. The author shows the forces with which Truman had to deal at each stage of the War and in trying to shape a Postwar world: establishment of the United Nations, winding down Lend-Lease, formulating a means to meet the perceived threat of Soviet expansion and domination of Central and East Germany. Throughout, he shows Truman's weaknesses as well as his strengths, and although you may still have many questions about the Cold War when you finish this book, you are also likely to have a greatly enhanced appreciation of the roles played by the major players, especially with respect to Truman's role as the Cold War developed. This is an excellent book with which to study Cold War origins, and it will provide you with leads to further study if you care to pursue the topics it covers in greater detail.

Worth the Read

This book gives a thorough look at the transition and evolution of the Truman administration's foreign policy approach. I found it a surprisingly easy read for a book based on solid research. Though my exposure to other works dealing with this subject is admittedly narrow, I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a balanced view on this subject.

This is one of the best books I have read. Miscamble provides a clear insight into this period, providing a clear and unbiased perspective on US policy and the many nuances that comprised the shift. It is interesting to re consider Roosevelts "4 policeman" model and the genesis of the UN in the modern context. Miscamble declares, where appropriate, his influences and biases and does an excellent job in putting much of the tabloid and reactionary history that has been written in context.

For me this was very much the missing link, bridging the WWII policies to the emergence of the cold war, providing a clearly articulated perspective that gives the reader the sense of the discussions, choices, personalities and perspectives which so much of our modern world still deals with.

It's Great -- For a Textbook

This is a textbook, so I can't honestly say that I love it, but for my class it is really great. It's clear and concise and I like the way it gives you highlights at the end of each chapter as well as test questions -- which my professor always used -- so you know pretty much what you'll need to know. It's thorough and informative but it is also very repetitive through the chapters... to me, at least.

This text was purchased as required reading for a course. The book is overall well organized and easy to read and search. I still had to purchase a book on APA guidelines as this text didn't go into enough detail for the class, but as far as required reading goes, it worked.
