Excellent primer about film directing and filmmaking

This slim book is very dense with all the innate simple truths about film directing. It's not just for film directors - it's for screenwriters and producers as well because so much in it pertains to all aspects of filmmaking. The author David Irving has been teaching at NYU for years and it shows. He really knows how to teach the essence of every step in the filmmaking process. Don't start a project without this book in your pocket!

A Real Find

This is an amazingly instructive work. It is written in a clear-cut manner which allows the reader to follow each necessary step. Above all, I found this book to be a perceptive journey into the world of a film director.
